ITINERARY

Day 1
- Arrival in Gran Canaria and transfer from the airport to the hotel by private vehicle.
- Welcome and reception by the Hotel Gloria Palace team.
- Check-in.
- Free time to settle in.

Day 2
Today is your first day out on the bike!
Today’s route is from San Agustín to Taurito. It’s a total of 58km with an elevation of 1116m.
This stage has a lot of ups and downs on the road. It is a coastal road with low traffic where you can find a lot of beaches along the route. You will also be crossing several towns with all services like bars, restaurants, supermarkets or chemistry.

Day 3
Third day, second route. We hope you have had a good rest because today’s route is a bit longer.
Today we will go from San Agustin to Ayaguares. It will be a total of 38 km with an elevation of 731m. Today we start with a big climb on the first half of the stage. After Ayaguares you will find two nice terraces where you can have a drink and some rest.
The second part is a very comfortable descent through the gorge.

Day 4
On the fourth day, pack your bags because today we change hotels.
Early in the morning the transfer will be ready waiting for you at the hotel door to take you to the starting point of today’s route.
We leave from San Agustin and today’s route will take us to San Mateo. We will do a total of 33 km with an elevation of 1102 m.
This third stage is also known as the Queen Stage. Long steep climb, where you’ll see how the environment changes from the sea level to the summits over 1500m.
On the road you’ll find small villages like Tunte, where you can relax for a coffee break. After Ayacata you’ll find Roque Nublo, one of the most iconic monuments on the island.

Day 5
After a delicious breakfast in your lovely rural house, which we hope you are enjoying as much as we did, it’s time to go out on the bike.
Today we will do 55 km with an elevation of 1604 m. This fouth route goes from San Mateo to Telde.
We start with a gentle climb, after that the road goes down until we get to Telde (here we can find some traffic early morning) After Telde we will fing another climb to Valsequillo and head to Karibu Lodge.
Do not worry because you can find plenty of services on the route in case you need them.

Day 6
Sixth and last day of cycling.
Today is the longest route so have a good breakfast and be ready for the last few kilometres. This fifth stage will ride us from San Mateo to Tejeda. It is a total of 60 km with an elevation of 2000 m.
Today we go across the west where we can visit and have a coffee break in the Parador Nacional de Tejeda while enjoying the amazing views.
After that, we keep climbing to Mirador Astronómico where starts our descent finding two of the most beautiful towns in Gran Canaria, Artenara and Tejeda.

Hotel Gloria palace
This hotel is located right in front of the sea coast in San Agustín. It is the favourite ones of cyclists since it has a cycling center with bicycle room storage. In addition, after a long ride day you would be able to enjoy its swimming pool and relax in its wellness area. It also has a rooftop restaurant, Gorbea.
Karibú Lodge
Karibú Lodge is located in Vega de San Mateo in the central part of the island. This is a restored rural house, which evokes the characteristic accommodations located in Afrucan Reserves. The house is surrounded by an impressive garden which you will be able to enjoy just for yourselves.
